How to compress an image to a specific size
Photos straight from a phone or camera are often 3–8 MB, which is far too large for email attachments, website uploads, government forms, or job applications that cap files at 100 KB or 1 MB. This tool solves that in two ways: you can set exact pixel dimensions, or you can name a target file size and let the tool automatically find the highest image quality that still fits under your limit.
Compress to 100 KB (or any KB target)
Choose Target file size, type your number (for example 100) and leave the unit on KB. The tool repeatedly re-encodes the image at lower quality until the result lands just under your limit, so you keep as much detail as possible while meeting the requirement.
Resize to exact dimensions
Choose By dimensions and enter a width. With Keep aspect ratio on, the height adjusts automatically so the image isn't stretched. This is ideal for profile photos, thumbnails, and platforms that require an exact pixel size.
Which format should I use?
JPG gives the smallest files for photos and is the safe default. WebP is even smaller and supports transparency, but a few older programs don't read it. PNG is lossless and best for graphics with sharp edges or transparency, but produces larger files.
